Four people dead after Cessna 551 private jet crashed into the Baltic Sea off the coast of Latvia

According to Sweden’s rescue agency, the Cessna 551, which was departing from Jerez in southern Spain, crashed on Sunday night off the coast of Latvia.

According to the website FlightRadar24, the flight departed at 12.56 GMT (13.56 BST) without a predetermined destination.

Before turning twice at Paris and Cologne and flying straight out over the Baltic, the private jet quickly lost speed and height.

A representative for Sweden’s rescue service stated, “We’ve learned that the plane has crashed (in the water) north-west of the town of Ventspils in Latvia. It is no longer visible on the radar.

A pilot, a woman, a man, and their daughter were all on board when the jet crashed in unknown circumstances during its erratic flight, according to German Bild.
