Instagram has been down for several users worldwide since last night, and while the rest of the app appears to be functioning normally, users are unable to send or receive direct messages on the app. Several users have reported receiving the same message repeatedly despite opening the DM.
The problem, which began last night, is still present at the time of writing (9.50 a.m.), and there has been no acknowledgement or statement from the platform.
According to DownDetector, the app has been down since July 5, 8.30 p.m., and complaints are still coming in. (9:50 a.m. on July 6)
