London weather: Heat wave rises, as London set’s to experience hottest night ever on record

The city of London is about to experience its hottest night on record.

According to the UK Met Office, temperatures in the capital will remain around 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) for much of Monday evening. The country is in the midst of its most severe heat wave, with potentially lethal temperatures disrupting transportation, businesses, and schools.

The minimum temperature reached at the coolest point during the night is recorded, which is usually in the early morning. In 1990, the record was set in the coastal city of Brighton.

Much of the country is expected to be even hotter on Monday night, with temperatures possibly falling to 25 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures of half that are typical at this time of year.
