Netflix opens applications for Creative Equity Scholarship Fund

The world’s leading entertainment streaming service is calling on all film and TV storytellers from East Africa to apply for the Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund.

In a press release made available, it was disclosed that the US $1 million scholarship fund for sub-Saharan students was launched in 2021 and is aimed at different initiatives over the next five years to develop a strong, diverse pipeline of creatives around the globe.

The scholarship fund will cover tuition costs, accommodation, study materials, and living expenses at select partner institutions in Kenya.

Beneficiaries are expected to have gained admission for a course of study in TV and film disciplines in the 2022 academic year.

Netflix will partner with HEVA Fund as its implementing partner and fund administrator. Applications are open and can be accessed on the online portal and will be accepted until April 22, 2022.
