California – Passengers escapes death as plane crashes and catches fire on runway before take off
Although a plane crash on a congested California motorway undoubtedly resulted in significant traffic delays, footage from the astonishing scenario demonstrates how fortunate the pilot and passenger were to survive.
The video, depicts billows of black smoke rising above the collision on the 91 freeway in Corona, California, on Tuesday. Drivers in the area were forced to slow down and pull over after the plane “blew up” on contact, according to a witness.
Fortunately, authorities say that both people aboard the plane escaped unharmed. You can see the plane’s pilot and passenger sprinting away from the flaming wreckage.
Since then, the fires have also been out, but the area still has to be thoroughly cleaned.
The cause of the crash is being looked into by the Federal Aviation Administration.
