Just-in: Luke Knox – a Florida International University linebacker and brother of Bills star Dawson Knox, has died suddenly at the age of 22
Brother of Bills player Dawson Knox and linebacker for Florida International University Luke Knox passed away unexpectedly at the age of 22.
Sean McDermott, the head coach of Buffalo, and FIU officials have just confirmed the tragedy, however no cause of death has been given.
“Our hearts go out to Dawson and his family during this time,” McDermott just told reporters at Bills training camp. “We’re right there with him and supporting him and his family. Just tragic news that I woke up to this morning.”
Luke’s head coach at FIU, Mike MacIntyre, expressed his sorrow over the football player’s passing in a statement on Wednesday. MacIntyre also coached Luke at Ole Miss and FIU.
Luke’s family is dear to me, and they will always be in my thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time, MacIntyre added. I offer Luke’s family and everyone who loved him my deepest condolences on behalf of the entire FIU football family.
