Marvels Thor – Love and Thunder hits $15.7million day one gross at the international box office market
Thor: Love And Thunder, a Disney/Marvel film, debuted on Wednesday in 17 major international box office markets, including Korea, Australia, Italy, and Germany. The estimated Day One gross is $15.7 million. In like-for-likes and at current rates, that puts it 39 percent ahead of Thor: Ragnarok and 24 percent behind Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
Taika Waititi returns to direct the fourquel, which grossed $3 million in Australia on Wednesday, the second highest opening day of the pandemic and the highest opening day of 2022 to date (both excluding previews). This is also the fifth-largest opening day for an MCU title in Australia (also excluding previews).
With $1.6M, Indonesia had the best first day of the pandemic. Italy came in third place with $1.4 million.
