Britain’s Richest man Jim Ratcliffe, wants to buy Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain, has been added to the list of potential buyers for the Glazer-owned Manchester club.

This week, there has been so much conjecture that the American businessmen might actually be interested in selling.

Although they are rumored to be receptive to the possibility of selling a minority ownership in the team, the Glazers may not be able to entirely let go of their franchise at this time.

Rumor has it that the US private equity firm Apollo is in exclusive discussions to buy the shareholding.

Ratcliffe, a 69-year-old billionaire, is reportedly not simply interested in acquiring a minority part in the club; rather, he wants to buy the entire organization.

Ratcliffe hasn’t been shy about his ambition to buy the club from the Glazers, even though United has reluctant to comment on the rumors.

According to The Mirror, Ratcliffe’s representative informed the Times that “Jim is definitely a potential buyer” if the club were to be put up for sale.

Although they have not yet been identified, some former players are reportedly included in Ratcliffe’s potential bid for United.

When Chelsea of the Premier League was put up for sale by former owner Roman Abramovich in May, the British billionaire also made an astounding last-minute offer.

Ratcliffe’s bid, which was allegedly higher than that of the rivals at the time, was rejected, but it was later realized that his poor timing of the bid was to blame.
