President Muhammadu Buhari recieves Made-in-Nigeria Android phone amid Twitter ban
While Nigerians grappled with the ban of the social media platform Twitter, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday was presented with Nigeria’s first android smartphone.
This was made known by the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmed, in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The post read, “President Buhari receives a ‘Made in Nigeria’ android phone from the Minister of Trade and Investment earlier this morning shortly before the commencement of this week’s Federal Executive Council Meeting at the State House, Abuja.“
The cell phone, called ITF mobile, happens to be one of the 12 indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
The presentation of the cell phone to the president was made by the Minister of Industry, trade, and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, before the commencement of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja.
