Three people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall on Sunday. According to police, the shooting suspect, who they believe acted alone, was killed shortly after by an armed citizen at the mall.
According to the Greenwood Police Department, a lone shooter, believed to be an adult male, entered the mall’s food court around 6 p.m. with a rifle and several magazines of ammo. The suspect then opened fire on the mall, killing three people and injuring another two.
The GPD also confirmed on Sunday that the shooter was killed by a Good Samaritan armed with a handgun. The suspect was shot with a legal gun by a 22-year-old man from Bartholomew County.
