Just-in: NDLEA destroys 560 kg’s of cocaines and other illicit drugs in Lagos, Nigeria – photos
On Thursday in Lagos, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) incinerated 560 kg of drugs that had been taken from drug lords.
Drug lords were cautioned against promoting illegal substances and warned of severe repercussions for anyone caught, according to retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, the NDLEA chairman who oversaw the demolition.
The Seme Area Command and the Lagos State Command of the NDLEA, according to Marwa, also confiscated some of the drugs from the central exhibit storage facility.
Marwa urged the drug lords to look for alternative employment, claiming that the shipment represented the largest destruction of illicit substances since the establishment of the NDLEA.
He expressed delight with the seizures, attributing them to the agency staff members’ tireless efforts.
