Mum Charged After Two Sets of Twins, Aged 3 and 4, Died in Horror Blaze
A mum has been charged after two sets of twins, aged three and four, were killed in a tragic house fire in 2021.

heir mother, Deveca Rose, has been charged with four counts of manslaughter following the deaths of the four brothers. The 29-year-old has also been charged with child abandonment contrary to the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and will appear at Croydon Magistrates Court tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Officers understand the significant impact on the local community following this devastating incident, and they would like to reassure people this extremely complex investigation continues, supported by partner agencies including the Crown Prosecution Service and London Fire Brigade.”
At the time of the tragedy frantic firefighters had carried the children out of the home as it became engulfed by flames and were rushed to hospital. The doctors were unable to save their lives. Firefighters involved in the incident were offered counselling after the tragedy.
Mourners laid floral tributes, candles and teddy bears outside the police cordon throughout the day on Friday, with one card reading: “Sleep well little angels.”

“They lit up everybody’s world and I will always be sorry that they went so soon. They had so much planned and now they’re gone. I wake up and I look at their Christmas tree and I look at their clothes, their Liverpool [football] kit, their Cocomelon dressing gowns, their drawings.”
The youngsters’ grandfather Jason Hoath shared a moving tribute on Facebook in which he described them as his “smart and beautiful grandsons”.
He said at the time: “I am devastated to say the horrendous house fire in Sutton last night leading to four children losing their lives were my amazing, smart and beautiful grandsons. Kyson and Bryson, aged four, and Leyton and Logan, aged three, were taken too soon they will always be in our hearts and thoughts.”
