After winning the Tony Awards, Jennifer Hudson becomes the 17th person to achieve EGOT status
Jennifer Hudson deserves a round of applause for becoming an EGOT after the 2022 Tony Awards on June 12. Jennifer worked as a producer on the play A Strange Loop, which won the Best Musical award at the event.
Jennifer had previously won an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar, so the Tony Awards were the final of the big four awards she wanted to win. She is only the 17th individual in history to achieve this degree of fame.
Jennifer is only the second Black woman to be named to the EGOT list, following Whoopi Goldberg.
Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, and Audrey Hepburn are among the other female EGOT winners. Jennifer is also the second-youngest person to ever be elected to Congress, at the age of 40.
