Ayade opens School, others
Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade has inaugurated a school and staff quarters for headteachers as well as youth corps members in Abijang, a riverine community in Etung Local Government.
Ayade was represented on the occasion by Commissioner for International Development Cooperation Dr Inyang Asibong.
The governor said the initiative was to make the environment conducive for pupils, headteachers and youth corps members.
Ayade opened a health centre built, furnished and equipped in Agbokim Mgbabor.
He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the projects by sustaining and maintaining the facilities.
The projects were implemented by the communities, but funded through Cross River State Community and Social Development Agency (CCSDA), a World Bank assisted initiative of government.
Acting General Manager of CCSDA Fidel Udie praised the communities for the projects.
Board Chairman Toni Ikpeme assured beneficiaries that the Ayade was committed to rural development.
Vice Chairman of Etung Local Government Mrs. Franka Ayuk thanked the government and agency for promoting rural development.
