“It’s a long running joke” – No!! Elon Musk is not buying Manchester United

With his tweets, the world’s richest man has once more wrought havoc and controversy online.

Elon Musk, the multibillionaire CEO of Tesla, announced late on Tuesday that he was purchasing Manchester United.
Musk said on Twitter to his 103 million followers, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome,” without going into any detail.
Musk stated that it was all a hoax few hours later, after numerous news items about his daring assertion had been written.

“No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams,” he said after a user asked him if he was serious about the purchase.
