Multiple Victims Reported as Shooting Breaks Out at Perry High School in Iowa
Multiple people are feared shot after a shooting occurred at Perry High School in Iowa on Thursday morning, Jan. 4.
Today is the first day back to school after the winter break for students at Perry High School.
Shots were reported just after 8:20am as about 1,700 children who study at the school were in their classes.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing crying students reuniting with parents near the entrance to the high school.
Multiple helicopters were en route to the scene to provide critical care transportation, according to public flight data.
There are at least five ambulances, multiple police units, air ambulance helicopters, and firefighters on the scene, which is 25 miles northwest of Des Moines.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the active shooting investigation – but said no other information is available at this time.
