NATO is planning to send new battle groups to Eastern Europe

NATO is prepared to increase its presence in Eastern Europe to counter Russian aggression in the midst of Ukraine’s ongoing invasion.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated on Wednesday, ahead of a crucial summit of member country leaders.

“I expect leaders to agree to strengthen NATO’s posture in all domains, with major increases in forces in the alliance’s eastern part, on land, in the air, and at sea,” he said.

NATO is planning to send new battle groups to Eastern Europe

“The deployment of four new NATO battle groups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia is the first step.”

He stated that NATO would have eight multinational groups along the alliance’s eastern flank with the new battle groups and existing forces in the Baltic countries and Poland.
In addition, Stoltenberg stated.
