The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics officially opened today, Friday, Feb. 4, in Beijing, China.

The Olympic flame was lit by Chinese president, Xi Jinping as other world leaders including Vladimir Putin were present for the opening ceremony at the National Stadium, known as the Bird’s Nest, in Beijing.
