Argentina’s Vice-President Cristina Fernández de Kirchne survives assassination attempt
One of the most well-known leaders in Latin America, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, vice president of Argentina, has survived an attempted murder after a man put a loaded gun at her head but it did not go off.
Video captured the vice president getting out of a car outside her home in the Buenos Aires suburb of Recoleta and seeing a weapon pointed at her face at close range from a throng.
Uninjured Fernández de Kirchner tried to duck as onlookers forced the would-be murderer away. According to local media, police have detained a Brazilian male, 35, in connection with the incident.
