Netflix approves new ‘Squid Game’-Themed experience on the platform

An immersive interactive experience based on Netflix’s popular Squid Game has been approved.

The interactive gaming and technology company Immersive Gamebox is launching the experience, which will be housed in a brand-new location in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City.

Challenges based on the Netflix series, such as Red Light Green Light and Marbles, will be available for players to complete.

The experience will use touch screens and motion sensing technology and will take place in the company’s “Gameboxes.”

A Netflix strategy to make some of its most popular original IP available on other platforms and experiences is continued by the Squid Game experience.

The projects include A Bridgerton Experience: The Queen’s Ball in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago, as well as an immersive experience with a Stranger Things theme in New York, London, and San Francisco.

Like how Disney uses its theme parks to create experiences around its properties, live experiences help Netflix generate revenue while also meaningfully expanding the brand into the real world.
