UPDATE: Anne Heche reportedly dies a week after car crash – she was 53yrs old
53-year-old Anne Heche passed away from catastrophic injuries she sustained when the automobile she was riding in collided with a house in Los Angeles and burst into flames.
Following a terrifying crash on August 5, the actress, who starred in Donnie Brasco and Six Days and Seven Nights, has been deemed brain dead by TMZ, which is the legal definition of death in California.
Heche has been pronounced dead, but her heart has been kept beating so that her organs can be donated, her representatives stated to the website.
“We have lost a bright light, a lovely and most joyous person, a loving mother, and a faithful friend,” they declared in a statement.
