Breaking: Three persons killed at cement factory explosion in Sokoto, Nigeria (video)

At least three persons have allegedly lost their lives as a result of an explosion at BUA cement factory in Sokoto. 

It was gathered that the explosion occurred on Friday morning, March 18 and the infernor continued till Saturday. 

A combined teams of federal and state fire service officers were at the scene quench the fire and salvage properties. 

The cause of the explosion is unknown, however, reports stated that the victims were repairing a tank that contained a large quantity of diesel when it occurred. 

Many others sustained injuries as result of the incident, which overpowered company’s safety officers and lasted for hours. 

The Prevention Officer of State Fire Service, Mr Nuhu Lawal, who confirmed the incident, noted that mobilised teams, as well as fire fighting equipment, had been conveyed to salvage the situation. 

Lawal declined further comments stressing that the combined teams were still making efforts to stop the ravaging fire.
