Google Doodle honours Polish Mathematician Stefan Banach

Polish mathematician Stefan Banach is honored in the July 22 Google Doodle (1892-1945).

Stefan is credited as being the father of contemporary functional analysis and is regarded as one of the most important mathematicians of the 20th century.


Stefan’s face is depicted as the Google logo’s central element in the Google Doodle for July 22. His profession and accomplishments in the field of mathematics are also indicated by the numbers that surround it.

Along with black and white, the doodle makes use of several cool-toned shades of blue and purple.

He was also one of the Lwów School of Mathematics’ original founders.
