Grammys 2022: Kanye West has been banned from performing

Kanye West has been banned from performing at the 2022 Grammys and his representative has confirmed the development.

Per a Variety report, the 44-year-old rapper’s rep disclosed that the ban is due to Kanye’s “concerning online behaviour”. The Recording Academy has not commented on the ban as of the time of this writing.

Speaking further, the rep referenced a report in The Blast claiming Kanye’s team received a phone call on Friday night (March 18), telling him that he had been “unfortunately” removed from the list of performers of the show.

“This is confirmed”, the rep stated.

Kanye West has been nominated for five Grammys this year and The Blast reveals that banning him from performing didn’t come as a surprise to the rapper’s team.

“Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision”, the news outlet noted.
