Cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Today we are going to discuss about those foods which are responsible for causing cancer and healthy foods which are also capable in preventing cancer.
Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, which is made up of trillions of cells.

Cancer symptoms and signs depend on the specific type and grade of cancer; although general signs and symptoms are not very specific the following can be found in patients with different cancers: fatigue, weight loss, pain, skin changes, change in bowel or bladder function, unusual bleeding, persistent cough or voice change, fever, lumps, or tissue masses.

(1) Processed meat
Processed meat causes cancer. Classified as a Group 1 carcinogen, it is connected specifically to colorectal and stomach cancer.

(2) Eating too much Red meat
The strongest link between eating red meat and cancer is colorectal cancer, however, there is also evidence of links to both pancreatic and prostate cancer.
Medical experts recommend that, to reduce your risk of cancer, you should eat no more than 65-100g of cooked red meat per week.
Swap red meat for beans, pulses, white meat or fish
The forms of cancer that are particularly linked to alcohol consumption are cancer of the mouth, throat, oesophagus, breast, liver, stomach and bowel.

(4) Sugary drinks
Obesity is a major risk factor for several cancers, and as such it is important to maintain a healthy weight.
This can be achieved through a balanced diet that incorporates all food groups.
Consuming sugary drinks regularly, can lead to weight gain, and when in excess leads to obesity.
(5) Processed foods
Medical experts recommends limiting fast foods and other processed foods high in fat, starches or sugars, as this helps control calorie intake and maintain a healthy weight.
Note: Greater body fatness is a cause of many cancers.

Eating the recommended servings of fruit and vegetables a day can help to reduce your risk of oesophageal, lung and some forms of mouth and throat cancer.

Lycopene is a chemical which offers “moderate protection” against prostate cancer for those who consume large amounts of raw tomato.
Note: Eating much tomatoes or including tomatoes in your daily diet can go a long way in preventing, you from getting prostate cancer.
